I liked the points brought up by this video about The Theory of Evolution. It tells us that just looking at the different layers of sediment and rock and you can see how certain species have evolved over the years and the changes they exibit you can also see by looking in those same layers that some of those same species have become extinct and also how they have come back to existence in a similar form. This video also explains why we don't see monkeys turning into humans and why we don't see single celled organisms turning into frogs or even a multi-celled organism. This is because it takes thousands of years for a species to change and the only ones we can see some changes in are the ones that reproduce very quickly. Also they show bone structures of a whales flipper and then those of a human hand and you can plainly see the similarities between them; but how do you get a flipper from a fully funtional five finger hand or a water dependent mammal to a land dependent mammal?Even still this topic brings up more questions and more flaws in the information but like the others they are called theories for a reason because they are just that; a theory!

This video shows a good argument against the Big Bang Theory. This theory states that the universe was created by one big bang one giant explosion. The problem with this is that don't you need something to create something. For instance don't you need metal and glass to make a car or plastic and metal and glass to create a computer so why would't you need something or someone to create something like existence. Another point brought on by Frank Turek was that whatever created the universe must be timeless cause it created time and spaceless cause it created space and also imaterial cause it created material. Also in this video he brings on the point of Einstien's Theory of General Relativity in that he divided his equation which the theory is based on by zero just cause his math was pointing the fact that the universe was created and not eternal. The Bang Theory is based on the fact that the universe is eternal, but if you take the universe from where it is at you eventually get nothing. This makes the Big Bang Theory a little less valid in a pysiological sense.
This video is a little old but it brings some information supporting the idea of The Big Bang. Scientist hired by at&t to find out why there was an annoying hiss in calls being made. These scientist found out that the hiss they were hearing was the result of stray microwaves but the scientist couldn't figure out were they were coming from. With this information they found they took to scientist at Princeton which discovered that they stray microwaves were leftover heat from the Big Bang explosion. The explosion caused all the waves in the spectrum to come into being from colors to light all the way to the leftover microwaves.

This video shows some good arguments to Darwin's' Theory of Evolution. It brings in the point of how simple Darwin thought of the single celled organism was and how simple the molecule was and now that we have a better understanding of the makeup of the organism and the molecule we see how more complex it really is.Which makes me wonder is Darwin's theory valid, with all these breakthroughs in science it puts holes in his ideas cause now we know more and more in depth than Darwin did, is he still right or is his lack of knowledge on a molecular level his downfall in his Theory of Evolution. Also does Divine creation sound more plausible than evolution?

God and the origin of the universe and Do we survive death?
These two topics are ones that have always interested me because even with my beliefs I still ask myself these same question frequently. I choose God and The Orgin of The Universe because I was born and raise a christian and I belive God created the universe and i'm curious to the pro's and con's to creation. I have found websites that present new information to the support of devine creation like (http://www.cosmicfingerprints.com/audio/newevidence.htm) where astronomers have found new evidence and exotic matter in the universe that is changing the way they thought everything was created, it is making scientist question the theroy of evolution and the big bang theroy.
The other topic that interested me was Do We Survive Death which is a question we have all asked ourselves many of times.Scientist believe after you die thats it; they believe when your body ceases funtion thats it. Then some Philosophers like Socrates belive that death is just the beginning and the human body is just a hindurance to the pursuit of truth. Then you look at different religons and there belief and views on the afterlife. So it raises the question is death the end or is death just the beginning? Is the thought of the afterlife a comfort or a reality? If there is life after death then where do we go, do our spirits go somewhere else or wonder the world as a ghost or do we become reincarnated? These to me are some questions I ask myself often. Im interested in this topic in hopes it will answer my questions or at least to form a stronger opinion.

To me philosophy is understanding yourself and other and the way they live and the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom and understanding. Understanding these things is by reading and applying what we can learn from the famous philosophers throught time and searching your life for answers to life and why things are. Philosophy seems like you are always answering a question with a question until you your self understand your question. Im excited to learn more about philosophy in this class.
